JVA, Inc. said farewell to Charlie Hager, Civil Principal, who retired from the firm the end of May. Charlie started at JVA in 2001 and was a leader with the firm’s Civil Department in Boulder and served as a Vice President of the firm for ten years. He stepped down as a Corporate Officer last year ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

During his time with the firm, Charlie worked on hundreds of institutional, municipal, industrial, commercial, and single- and multi-family housing projects. His extensive experience included site development projects that required complex, integrated civil engineering design.

“Charlie has a certain ‘can-do’ attitude that JVA clients loved. He also had a great way with staff and was always looking out for the team’s wellbeing. His technical skills came through when describing the nuances of civil sitework to both clients and staff,” said the firm’s President, Kevin Tone. “Everything Charlie did had a sense of fun to it, we’ll all surely miss that.”
