JVA’s Winter Park office was founded in 2001 to serve as a hub for our mountain projects in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, California, and Utah. We work closely with developers, architects, and builders to ensure that the site and structure meet the unique demands of the mountain environment such as sloping sites and high snow loads. In addition to working with architects and owners, we provide services directly to municipalities. We are the Town Engineer for Winter Park, Georgetown, and Idaho Springs, and serve as the District Engineer for the Winter Park Ranch Water and Sanitation District.
Residential, resort, educational, and municipal projects comprise the core of our project portfolio. Custom homes benefit from our expertise in log and heavy timber construction and difficult site grading, while our strong background in steel and concrete design meets the challenges of multi-family resort projects. Our municipal experience includes the Granby Library, Granby Town Hall, Grand County Judicial Center, the Steamboat Springs City Hall, and a stormwater treatment facility for Grand Lake, Colorado’s largest natural lake.
Our LEED Accredited Professionals are committed to sustainable design practices that promote high-performance building projects. JVA helped to pioneer the use of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) in public school buildings on the East Grand Middle School in Granby and are excited to help Western State College pursue LEED Gold Certification for the Taylor Hall Renovation project.
