Residential construction makes up approximately 25% of JVA’s project load. For over four decades, we’ve structurally designed hundreds of custom single-family or multi-family residential buildings. This includes both new construction and complex renovations or additions. Most of this work is for private homeowners along the Front Range and in resort communities in the Rocky Mountain region. JVA has also designed a significant number of homes associated with golf course or retirement communities in the western region of the United States.

With the move towards urban living, JVA has been very active in mixed-use housing projects in most of the communities along Colorado’s Front Range from Fort Collins to Denver. Our loft experience in Lower Downtown (LoDo) Denver includes new residential towers as well as significant renovations of historic buildings.

As our nation ages and the need for elderly housing grows, JVA has been very active in the structural design of senior housing. These projects range from small apartments to large campuses with cottages, independent living units, assisted living units, high-care facilities, and community center buildings. Our diverse mix of experience on residential, resort, medical, and recreation facilities allows JVA to bring a wealth of experience to the design team when it comes to evaluating structural systems for the variety of buildings commonly found in retirement communities.
