JVA’s structural department is
actively involved in numerous projects for clients
nationwide, and we
enjoy a broad client base given more than five decades
of consulting
engineering practice. With a combined technical staff
of over 30 structural engineers and drafters, we are
able to properly staff your project to get the work
done right and to meet your schedule. Our main office
in Boulder
is strengthened by offices in Fort Collins, Winter
Park and Bozeman, and allows us to provide better service in the
northern plains and mountain communities.
Work done outside of Colorado comprises about 15% of
our business. Whether designing custom residences in
Jackson Hole, winery facilities in Napa Valley, veterinary
hospitals in New England, or a $65 million retirement
community in Tulsa, we bring a wide range of design
experience to your team and a successful record of working
with architects, owners, building departments, and general
contractors.
While
our principal focus is building design, we’ve
developed expertise in use of alternative building
materials and design of special structures including
climbing walls,
signage and lighting, art display, auditorium/stage
rigging, timber frame structures, retaining walls,
and pedestrian
bridges.
Our reputation is based on providing
excellent service and producing thorough, well-coordinated
construction
documents. JVA’s early involvement in evaluating
building systems can be crucial. It’s
been our experience that smart decisions in the preliminary
design phases of a project result in significant cost
savings during construction.
We will respond quickly
and effectively to issues that arise during construction.
Many members of JVA’s
staff have hands-on construction experience that is
invaluable in the field. We can expedite a set of shop
drawings,
make a “spur of the moment” site visit,
devise a detail to suit the immediate conditions, and
suggest
alternative solutions.
